Tony Andrews sounds out on the CDJ 2000

The sound quality of the CDJ 2000 has been improved dramatically from the CDJ 1000 and in this clip we hear the first reaction of Tony Andrews, founder of Funktion One who produce arguably the best professional loudspeaker systems in the world. The CDJ 2000 features a Wolfson DAC, found in Pioneer’s top end hi-fi equipment. The Wolfson has an incredibly high signal to noise ratio (SNR) of up 117dB, this is 11dB higher than the CDJ 1000MK3 DAC

DJsounds tracks down two of the chart-topping UK trio Above & Beyond, in the mix at their London studio. Here, Paavo and Jono talk about how they all hooked up, how they work together, their current projects, and how they choose tracks to sign to their own super-successful label, Ajunabeats. The three fully-fledged musicians and songwriters, Tony McGuinness, Paavo Siljamaki and Jono Grant, formed Above & Beyond back in 2000, and have shaken the very foundations of the dance/trance scene ever since with their euphoric and emotive productions and DJ/live sets.

Follow the footage showing what the new CDJ-2000 multi-players can do – live in the mix – as the dynamic British deck master James Zabiela took command of the Pioneer DJ stand during the recent BPM show… Other DJs to showcase the CDJ-2000s over the BPM weekend last month included MYNC (Mark Brown and Nick Corelli), Pete Gooding and Pioneer’s own Dan Tait and Rik Parkinson. Besides the brand new CDJ-2000 and CDJ-900 multi-players with rekordbox software, Pioneer’s new DJM-5000 mixer and high-grade HDJ-2000 headphones were also introduced during 2009’s event
