PHX USB professional DJ headphones feature an innovative, dual-input design. DJs can connect PHX USB to virtually all of their gear thanks to traditional analog and modern USB stereo inputs. NUMARK AND BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC TEAM UP IN HOLLAND
Berklee broke new ground in music education once again by becoming the first music college in the world to incorporate the study of turntablism into its curriculum.
This spring semester, Turntable Technique will teach students the art of playing the turntable, an art form that helped define hip-hop music and has been adopted in virtually all popular music genres.
Berklee’s decision to adopt the turntable as a musical entity worthy of academic study continues the institution’s historical tradition of defying the music conservatory establishment by adopting new and often controversial music forms. In the 1940s, Berklee became the first music college to offer jazz in its curriculum, and later in the 1960s was the first college to adopt the electric guitar as a principal instrument.
Berklee Faculty member Stephen Webber has been at the forefront of turntablism education and continued this trend by assembling the Scratch Ambassadors Finland Tour.
Numark helped the Berklee classroom for this prototype class to be equipped with professional state-of-the-art instruments and gear by contributing their TTX hybrid analog/digital turntables, cartridges, analog and digital DJ mixers, and innovative CD turntables. In October 2009, Webber brought turntablism to eager audiences in Finland with Numark gear in hand.

NUMARK ANNOUNCES NSFX EFFECTS CONTROLLER FOR NS7 AND SERATO ITCH
Cumberland, R.I. (Oct. 2, 2009)
Numark, the world’s leading manufacturer of DJ technology, announces NSFX, an effects controller for use with the company’s NS7 premium software-performance controller. Numark developed NS7 and NSFX in strategic partnership with software developer Serato. NSFX will make its worldwide debut at Numark’s stand, E10, during the 2009 BPM show, October 3 and 4, 2009 at Birmingham, U.K.’s National Exhibition Centre.
NS7 DJs can now take advantage of Serato ITCH’s effects capabilities with NSFX. Designed in collaboration with Serato for the ITCH system, NSFX is designed to mate perfectly with NS7, delivering seamless integration and hands-on control of the wide range of effects built into ITCH. Those effects will sync automatically to the tempo of the track to which they are applied, allowing for quick, easy, musically satisfying results every time.
DJs attach NSFX to NS7′s integrated laptop stand for convenient access to effects controls. Designed to match the high-quality fit and finish of NS7, NSFX delivers the same robust, professional feel that NS7 users have grown accustomed to. Because Numark designed NSFX in collaboration with Serato, it is instantly compatible with ITCH. Users simply plug NSFX in via USB, which will activate the effects functionality in the latest version of ITCH. All parameter controls are intelligently pre-mapped and no software-driver installation is needed so DJs literally plug and play with NSFX. Club DJs will appreciate NSFX’s light-up controls that indicate each control’s setting and/or status for visual feedback in virtually any lighting environment.
“Serato and Numark have worked closely to make sure that the integration between NS7, NSFX and ITCH remains as seamless as it always has been,” said Adam Cohen, Director of Business Development, Numark. “We think both existing and future NS7 owners will be thrilled by the extended functionality that NSFX provides.”
NSFX will be available from musical instrument and DJ retailers Q4, 2009.
