The V7 has been a showstopper everywhere we’ve shown it to anyone so we decided to get it out in the open even more and let some pro DJs get their hands on it. That’s just what we did in New York and Los Angeles.
We started in New York by inviting some special guests to get up close and personal with the V7. DJs came from near and far and included Marley Marl, Biz Markie, Jazzy Joyce, Mell Starr, DJ Clear and Keith Shocklee got some hands-on with the V7 in the heart of New York.
In Los Angeles, we had even more DJs and some of L.A.’s top DJs came to enjoy a barbecue lunch and get some hands-on time with the V7. Check out the video below to see how it turned out, and stay tuned for more V7 events coming soon.
Are you a well-known DJ who wants to attend the next V7 event? Send an email to Charles at LANumarkV7@gmail.com and let him know who you are and why you should attend. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be featured in the next batch of photos or video.

Emulator + Token = Real Nextlevelness
To date, touch screens have generally been little bigger than a book – more often than not the size of… well an iPhone screen. This of course makes the spacious traditional DJ metaphor a tad cramped to say the least, and frankly really crap to watch if you’re a punter. But this video demonstrates the next level of controller technology, and also overcomes the hunched over the iPad non-performance

MixEmergency 1.5 released
Hamilton, New Zealand – June 10, 2010: Inklen is proud to announce the release of MixEmergency 1.5. While the major advancements in MixEmergency 1.5 may not be obvious at first, a lot of work has been put in to refining and optimising many of the current features. Since the release of MixEmergency 1.1, users have been able to record their video mixes, with almost no additional strain on their computers, and then export the video at any later date. The main focus in MixEmergency 1.5 has been on optimising the process of exporting these videos. Inklen is pleased to announce that these optimisations have dramatically improved the rate of export – in some cases exporting over 10 times as fast as MixEmergency 1.4. (more…)

Musikmesse 2010: Mixvibes VFX demo
While Mixvibes didn’t have an actual stand at Musikmesse this year (the prices were truly astronomical), they did have a suite in a nearby hotel. And this is where I finally got to see their video rocking VFX package in action – and highly impressed I was as well.

CDJ-900 – How Slip Mode works
Having got through the BPM coverage, it’s now time to get back to the business of news and reviews again. Teasing me badly are the new Pioneer CDJs and the putting together of the preview feature

MIND live at Save Club, Brazil
MIND is an innovative DJ/VJ combo comprised of two core members: Dennis Rocha and Leonardo Schenkel, who hail from Porto Alegre in Brazil. And they recently sent in this clip of their music and video show in full effect at Brazil’s Save Club… Together MIND produces and performs audio-visual shows, often using DVJs, CDJs, keyboards and laptops, where music and the vibe are visually represented in the mix by video. In fact, so very into their art are Dennis and Leonardo that during live shows they even wear computer monitor ‘helmets’ which also display their video output– check it out!

DJ Cosmo’s entry to the DJawards Bedroom DJ Competition
DJ Cosmo (aka Konstantin Cosmo) from Ukraine sent in this video that secured him a slot in the top 15 finalists of 2009’s DJawards.com Bedroom DJ Competition. Cosmo used CDJ-800MK2s, a DJM-800, the EFX-1000, and his PC with Ableton. He connected the DJM-800 with the PC via MIDI, and mapped all the functions he needed in Ableton to the DJM.
